Using the Interactive Data Tool

The interactive data tool enables the exploration of responses to the survey questions by demographic group as well as at an overall level:

  • Select a research theme from the menu at the top of the page
  • Select the ‘Quantitative Results’ tab
  • Choose a survey question from the list on the left-hand side of the page
  • The default setting is to display responses at the total sample level. You can choose to look at the responses of a particular group, or a combination of groups, by selecting from the drop-down menus on the left-hand side of the page and then clicking ‘Generate’.

The tool automatically provides a comparison with the relevant 2007 data, if a similar question was asked.

The ‘Other Charts’ tab allows the charting of responses to one question against responses to another to provide a view of associations between attitudes and demographics. Fuller details of how to generate and interpret these charts, which we have titled ‘Attitudinal Associations’ and ‘Attitudinal Overview of Segments’ are provided here.

If you want to save any results of your investigations, we recommend taking a screenshot of your page. The charts themselves can also be treated as images.
